Repair Cafes in Canberra

What is a repair cafe?

A repair cafe is a community event where broken items are fixed by volunteer repairers. Visitors are given the opportunity to be shown how their items can be fixed, and can learn new skills in the process. Broken items are kept out of landfill, and are given a new lease of life. The repairing is free, however additional parts are not included.

Most repair cafes often fix electrical items, clothing, jewelry, garden equipment, bikes and scooters, toys and wooden items, laptops, and phones. However, this is subject to volunteer repairer availability, so make sure you check with the organiser’s beforehand!
