Everyday Climate Choices The ACT Government has a range of different programs helping you to create a more sustainable future in Canberra and the region. This includes the Home Energy Advice Service and Low Income Household Program that offers practical ways for low-income households in the ACT to reduce energy and water bills. The Canberra Environment Centre are running a range of Sustainability Workshops including brewing kombucha, making zero waste products and an Urban Permaculture Design Certificate. We provide free support to businesses in the areas of energy, transport, waste and water. This includes a rebate of up to $10,000 for small businesses to improve energy efficiency and transition off gas. FREE 7 Star House Plans: Design For Place is a suite of house plans to help demonstrate the practical design elements that can be used to improve the quality and energy efficiency of current mass-market housing. The plans can be found on the YourHome website, managed by Department of Environment and Energy.

Places to drop off hard to recycle items
Lids 4 Kids, 141 Canberra Avenue Fyshwick, Monday-Saturday 10-2pm. Become a member and get a Waste Warriors Tub. Once you fill your tub with hard to recycle items, you can drop it off to one of the many Swap and Go locations around Canberra, including the SEE Change Office. More info here
Kambah Recycling Hub, every 2nd Saturday, 2-4pm, 8 Laidlaw Place Kambah. Swap and Go your Lids 4 Kids Waste Warrior Tubs and you can also bring in socks, sports balls, E.waste, CDs, razors and also old laptops and iPads and computer parts to be recycled. More info here.
UpShop, donate unfinished craft projects and haberdashery items. Located at Diversity ACT Hub, 8 Laidlaw Place, Kambah. Opening Hours: Friday 9:30am-3pm, Saturday 9am-12pm. Drop offs also available at Tuggeranong Repair Cafe and Community Toolbox Repair Cafe. More info here
