Kambah Community Garden Open Day and Seedling Sale

Kambah Community Garden is gearing up for what it hopes will be its best and biggest open day yet.
The garden’s sixth annual open day will be held on Saturday, 1 November, from 10am to 3pm.

The garden is located at the corner of Springbett Street and O’Halloran Circuit, Kambah. Entry is free and there is parking
adjacent to the nearby Kambah Woolshed.

The Kambah Garden is one of 12 operated across Canberra by the Canberra Organic Growers Society (COGS). Visitors will have a chance
to inspect over 40 individual plots, a common herb garden and a flower plot. Seedlings and other plants will be on sale. Proceeds from the day go to help

fund projects at the garden. Some are also donated to a local charity. Last year $500 was donated to Oz Harvest.

Along with the popular seedling sale, there will be speakers, a sausage sizzle and coffee and cake stall, events for kids, raffles and
stalls, including regulars Southern ACT Catchment Group and Seed Savers. Last year’s newcomer, SEE Change, will again have an e-bike
to try as well as information on sustainability initiatives you can get involved in.

Guest presentations will be:
10:30am - “Compost and Carbon Capture workshop” by Fiona
Buining from Ainslie Urban Farm
12:30pm - “Cacti and Succulents” and Gardening Q&A by Jackie
Warbuton, horticulturalist from Terra Solarus
