Climate Change Levers - First Session

On Monday night, 7 climate champions were led by Bede Doherty of SEE Change Climate Education Group, to explore the EN-ROADS climate change solutions simulator. The application is designed and supported by MIT and used around the world by policymakers, educators, businesses, the media, and the public, to explore cross-sector climate change solutions.

It was great to have Bede, who is an extremely experienced climate change engineer now retired, take us through the simulator and it's many fascinating features. Our team each got a chance to pick a policy of interest and implement it, to see the effect it would have on global temperature increase. We started with a status-quo scenario which predicted a 3.3 degrees increase in global temp by 2100, and by the end of the session with our team choosing policies to implement, we got down to 1.7 degrees!

You can have a go and see if you can come up with an even better climate change scenario! Use this link to access the simulator.

Or even better - keep an eye out in our newsletter for our next upcoming session to take part in this hopeful and fun interactive webinar!

Huge thank you to Bede Doherty for running the session, and for our amazing group jumping on this first session and being fantastic participants!
